Not seen a moblie phone thread for a while
So what are people's thoughts on the best phones on the market at the moment as it's upgrade time. Last 3 phones have been Samsung D500, D600 and D900.. where do I go from here?

SE W850i - does everything but also WORKS as a phone.
Decent battery life and laughs at all Nokias, which I have given up on for life after one too many "top of the range" disasters.
N95 battery life is utterly tragic and it's so stuffed with software that they actually forgot the "phone" bit.

thats interesting about the N95 as I want one but I went on (if I remember correctly) the O" site and got onto an area where people left their comments about their phones. The N95 scored well on ease of use and features but approx 85% said battery life was dire. A few had several problems like software, callers not being able to hear them and noisy screens ??
It's kind of put me off a bit so hearing posative comments gets me thinking again

Cracking phone indeed – But I’m sending mine back
I upgraded from my trusty D500 (Which I’ve had 2.5 years) so I wanted to stick with Samsung
Excellent functionality, 5mp camera which is good quality – poor flash!
Stupid bloody internet connection button right in the middle of the keypad – not good when your as clumsy as me! Also, no text limit when texting – Usually set to 160 characters, this thing lets you go on forever! & to my knowledge this cant be changed!

So, I need to be looking at reviews of the N95 and the G600 then. Seems like they are the only decent phones on the market at the moment.
How I convince them to give me one free though? I'm also trying to reduce the cost of my contract so this could all prove difficult to get everything I want.. anyone know where I can find some cracking deals?

What do you actually need?
W850i has a good camera, 3G, full MP3 playing ability, a very handy torch and loads of other stuff and actually WORKS as a phone. Free on most contracts too.

I'm waiting for the Nokia E51. It's in the 'business phone' range, so it should actually work properly. Also has Wifi although I'll hardly ever used it. The best thing is the integrated HSDPA modem (1.8MBit over 3G)

Think the K850 will be my next choice but just upgraded to the W850i which I'm well chuffed with.
It's a huge leap above all the Nokias I had (they were great for years then suddenly got completely cack).

I can have a "free" upgrade with 3 now, so that phone would be ideal. Then I have a W850i for sale which I'm sure could do well on Ebay!

N95, battery life isnt great so charge it at every opportunity, its pretty fast, it doesnt crash and does what it says on the box.
Make sure you get the latest firmwae, the early ones were prone to crashing and it can also depend on the network branding, I am on 3 and its been a revelation.

Ok, so what are N95's like on O2, Orange or Vodafone? Why is 3 a revelation? What are 3 like as a network? where do they get their airtime from?

I have had an N95 since June, the latest firmware seems to have sorted most problems. The battey life can be improved by changing some of the settings for wireless network discovery and the phones wifi transmit power. Used just as a phone mine lasts a couple of days before needing to be recharged. I have tomtom running on mine using an external gps receiver and even running this the battery runs for about 4 hrs (no powersaving) before recharging which is simillar to the Ipaq I used before.
