The Beach - what happens in the end?
I fell asleep.
Got to where the black english lad tells him not to go mental and they talk about Robert Carlisles character. Does he go bonkers and kill them all?
What happened to Robert Carlisle, I missed that bit too.
The ******** bits weren't bad, but there wasn't enough spaceships and robot killing machines so I fell asleep

Suggest buying and reading the book
Film is a mile away from the original
ie. No romantic involvment with the French chic etc etc
Book = good
Film = moderate/crap

I quite like the film, I sat up watching the last hour on E4 last night only for it to finish realised when flicking through the channels I had E4+1 and could have watched it from the start :
Basically they all have to leave the Island because more people arrived on the back of Richards map.

(Further reinforced by the fact that despite Robert Carlisle's character having been to the beach, he still can't find what he's looking for 'cos he's ****ed in the head, which is why he kills himself at the beginning of the film. Except you only suss that at the end)
The book is much better, but I quite liked the film.

I thaught the key point was the megolomania and the break down of civility when they were removed from society and the complete corruption and abuse of power by the hippy boss woman who ended up trying to kill di craprio.

So davegtt sums up the ending - they all fooked off.
Everyone else - tense, thrilling ending which leaves you thinking about the society we find ourselves in.

You asked what happens in the end... I told you the simple ending.
But yeah there is more of a deeper meaning to it all, I read into it that paradise isnt always what you think it is, every good thing is ruined by other things but you find a happy place inside and keep hold of it.
Something **** like that anyway
