Jason Bourne Series of Books
Anyone read them? Bought 1st one to read on hols and finished it. Havent watched the film (Identity) for a while but Im sure its quite a bit different to the book. Got the next 3 to read now and apparently there is a 5th. I thought when Ultimatum came out they said that was the last film.
Will admit to not liking the first film when it came out as not a massive Matt Damon fan but they have really grown on me (obviously leading on to purchasing the books as well).

Yeah the films are completely different to the books, you'll notice that as you get through the books. I bought the trilogy of books a while ago to read because they were cheap and I liked the film. Wow, I couldn't put them down. I thought they were great.
The fourth and fifth books weren't actually written by Robert Ludlum, they were written by somone else and apparently they aren't as good as the first three, but I haven't read them so can't comment too much.

half way through the first book after taking it on holiday. Very different in the content and way things are done but you can understand why it was altered to bring it up to date and also to actully be workable in a film.

Theres at least on ebook written after Robert Ludlam died too (by Eric Von Lustbader or similar, I think. Its not too bad and it brings the story full-circle.

Have read Bourne Identity and almost finished Bourne Supremacy, fabulous books and very well written.
Have to say was mighty disappointed with the first film though having read the book, obviously it has to be shortened and changed but lost to much of the character of the book for me.

Bourne Identity
Bourne Supremacy
Bourne Ultimatum
Eric Van Lustbader:
Bourne Legacy
Bourne Betrayal (an apt title for them all really).
Managed to find a mate with Bourne Identity DVD so gonna watch that tomorrow. I know you have to cut bits out to keep film shorter but the plot seems so different from what I can remember.

Which version of the BI are you watching? the original with Richard Chamberlain? or the rehash with Damon?

I started reading the Bourne Ultimatum (having seen the first two films) and it was a very rare occasion of just giving up halfway through.
I'm a very avid reader but I simply could not be bothered with this book - way way too complex and written in a very annoying style.

First time I've ever stopped reading a book halfway through. And I'm a big Ludlum fan!
The story just went no-where and was dragging on and on.
I'll have to give it another go sometime as I'm keen to read the rest of the Bourne books.
The films I thought were excellent.
Of course they're going to be different to the books.
I saw the Bourne Identity then read the book and just enjoyed the two as different things. The film is clearly just uses the basic plot points of the book and the latter films just use the names of the books.
Eitherway I really enjoy them
I'll be suprised if they make any more for a while but then again they've made a lot of money out of the films so I'm expecting to be suprised!
