Missed an ebay auction for trainers. Contacted them. They said they had some and i paid £65 via paypal. Got an email a few days later to say that no longer had that size and would return the money.

A few months later i notice the money hasn't been paid back. I contacted them several times, but only got one response, saying they would lOOk into it.

Can i get paypal to recover the money?

Or is there another way (except for going down and recovering the payment in blood)

I think the maximum time has expired now mate, you would need to approach the company.

Didn't use my paypal account for quite a while afterwards. I presumed they would return the money as said.

Was only when there was less money in than i thought, that i checked it all out.

Can't find the seller on ebay. Just have the persons email address & paypal details.

You can file a dispute with paypal ( the links are on the website ) - not sure if you may have left it too long now though.

One question though, how did you pay for the item ? if it was from funds already in your paypal account then the money will be refunded there, if it was from a card or from your bank account directly, then the money will go back there, not into your paypal account, so check those to make sure it hasnt and you missed it.

Good point, i'll go check.

But when i've made a payment from paypal before and it's been returned, it shows the return in the transaction history. There's just the payment, no return.

Will check bank statements tonight though.

I had a problem with pay-pal & paying for an item that was not as described, pay-pal dragged their feet in relation to crediting my account, so my bank refunded the money in full, inc potal charges surrounding the whole problem...

Gaz, if it isnt showing up in the transaction history then it probably hasnt been refunded, but better to check anyway.
