Always knew that thing was fast. I am surprised that Top Gear have never had it on the show. Does not make sense to me really. If they will have an Atom, then what is wrong with an Ultima?

Perhaps the other supercars don't want the ultimas showing them up?

I mean five seconds, they got slightly owned.

And it was the cooking model, more powerful one waiting in the wings.

How about the 0 - 60 time.... (2.6 secs from memory) That's quicker than most bikes!!

I'd like to see it on TG, but where will it end? Radical's and other specials out just trying to break their lap record.

Still, I'd love to own an Ultima

Well I suppose the only proviso to get on the TG power board is to be road legal. So in that respect they are perfectly entitled to be there, But yes, you are going to start getting Radicals and Caterham R500's etc - Pretty much deidcated track cars that "can" be driven on the road but you wouldnt reccommend it. But then the same can be said of most super cars, they aren't really practical.

9.9 standing quarter mile?

Now theres a 10 second car worth having.

Think they'd have to do a TG track car special. Each car turns up with its own stig and see who can post the fastest time over say 5 laps. Get 6 cars and the lads choose 2 cars each.

The fastest of each of the 2 get driven in the final by the chaps themselves to determine the winner.

That would make a cracking episode.

Made in a little garage behind the back of my local Morrison's. See these reasonably frequently going up and down the local bypass. I once 'egged' one on into flooring it (strange how an Impreza up your chuff will do that) and the sound and speed was..........

I think there was, yes. But certainly some of the supercars are very very low to the ground

I think you can safely say they haven't on account of there not being one in the top 3 times - which it almost certainly would be had it gone round.

I thought they'd timed it but not put in on the list due to not being a proper road car. Maybe I just dreamt that episode lol

Nope it seems I didnt:

The Stig - now un-masked as Le Mans driver Perry McCarthy - had managed to set the fastest road car time on their circuit at the show's Dunsfold headquarters.

But to relieve the Pagani Zonda's embarrassment about the fact that the Radical SR3 was four seconds faster, the diplomatic Top Gear Producers came up with a new "track day specials" category.
From JLT Motor Club Le Mans Trip 2003 in a Radical SR3-LM!

That would make the Radical 1.14.4 which is still slower than the Ultima

Simon

Taken from the ultima site's FAQ.

Will my Ultima travel over speed humps?

The Ultima Can-Am and GTR have both been designed as road cars so will therefore clear any speed-humps and other obstructions such as ferry ramps.
Rest assured that Ultima staff do spend a lot of time posing in town centres worldwide just to prove this point.
