Thumbs up Dr Who - The Complete 1st Series - £6:99!!

This could be an error in the price - it says reduced from £69:99 (which seems to be too much?) to £6:99

So, do your homework - but - if true ....... BE QUICK!!!!!!!

Virgin Megastores UK : Doctor Who - The Complete 1st Series (Ecclestone) : DVD

Ordered. Thanks Pete!

Looks like it should be £36.99, as that's what it shows up as in the listing when you search for it.

From their T&C's

If the correct price is in fact higher than the price on our website we will either: contact you and discuss the pricing error before we proceed with your order, or notify you of the error and cancel your order

These DVD's mention Christopher Eccleston being in them? Seeing as in the first series the first doc was William Hartnell and he played the part 44 years ago, I am struggling to understand Ecclestons involvement in the first series?

Not really; it was a pricing error. Theyre quite common, so much so that websites exist to keep track of them. Their conditions arent legal though: if they accept your payment then you have a contract. They can only correct a mistake which isnt blindingly obvious (which this isnt) before theyve accepted your payment and made a contract with you.

got refunded

BUT!!!!

Dear Customer
I am writing to you regarding your order for Doctor Who - The Complete First Series.
This item briefly appeared on our site priced at £6.99 instead of the correct price of £36.99. As soon as we realised the error we removed it from the site, but unfortunately a number of customers, yourself included, placed orders for the incorrectly priced item.
The mistake was an unfortunate, but genuine, one. Our terms and conditions of sale clearly set out how customer orders are processed and we do have procedures in place to deal with such mistakes. However we fully appreciate that frustration can be caused and I wanted to take this opportunity to apologise to you.
Your order has now been cancelled and if you have been billed then you will of course receive a full refund.
We set high standards for ourselves and on this occasion we failed to live up to them.
Once again, I hope you will accept our sincere apologies. In recognition of the inconvenience caused we will be sending you a £5 goodwill voucher that you can use against any purchases on our site. This will be emailed to you shortly.
Kind regards
zavvi customer services
i ended up getting a £5 voucher for free

Why would I want the first series of Dr Who at any price?

It was rubbish.

UB,

You could then sell them on Ebay at £30 a pop

I have just sent Virgin a snotty email, as I have been offered the same ..... £5 takes the P though ...... They had my money for 14 days before cancelling !!!!

How many others money were they holding for the same amount of time ?
