Hey Guys
I am trying to get a driving day for my dad's 60th birthday...... does anyone know of any good ones? I'm not bothered where it is really (it'll be a good excuse for a holiday!) but the ones I've seen are like £200 for 20 minutes of driving and that just seems silly!
It doesn't really matter what kind of car it is either but I guess something that he wouldn't usually drive would be good.
suggestions most welcome
cheers
Cal

I've just been through the same search for my dad's 60th and retirement.
The best value deals seam to be the rally days at Bill Gwynne. I've bought the old man a full day in a mark II Escort. He used to co-drive in one during the late 70's early 80's road rallies. I may treat myself too!

I've used this one before and found it really good. You get a full day out, 5 different cars to drive and a very nice meal at a pub en route is included.

How about you hire him a Caterham for the day with Book A Track, not mega cheap but you will get unlimited track time and IIRC you can share the cost between 2 or 3 people. I would go for an airfield day or maybe the new Anglesey track as both have massive run off.

they were organising one of these on the Essex Scooby Crew - Was a bit pricey - but I fancied it - try this
Car Limits its at North Weild airfield and you can use your own car or hire one - and he'll cater for your needs - the web-site was pretty useful!

I have just been given one for my birthday at Castle Combe which is not that far from you. It is a couple of training laps in a Focus followed by a few laps by the customer, then 6 laps in a Formula Ford them some laps in an Impreza
followed by some laps in a Lotus Elise. I was not so rude as to ask my sister what it cost but it sounds like a really good day and I am looking forward to it very much.
