One of my neighbours has decided to do some fireworks, just been out to find out who, and it is my next door neighbour, but he has at least had the decency to use the farmers field at the end of the road
not that it makes that much difference really from a noise point of view
Scooby at the moment doesnt seem too concerned at the moment, but keeping my eye on him
Unfortunately you are never going to stop it, and tonight around here has a lot of the large display shows on, so it is sounding a little like beirut around here, and probably will until after monday evening

Am I right in thinking there are more this year than before??
It actually seems like New Years Eve 1999-2000 when the sky lit up like Baghdad !!!!
I have a big brave German Shepherd Dog clinging to my leg here!!

At least they are all in this year. Last, some liveries left their horses out, Christ, they ran themselves ragged. Was awful. My neighbour and I ended up having to bring the more stressed ones in. Not my idea of a fun night out, especially as it was a guessing game as to who went where

its not a good time of the year for animals,i have 4 aviarys with around 200 birds in my back garden and the death rate at this time of year is horrendous, tried soundproofing all the internal flights as much as i can but still doesnt stop the ones that sleep outside

Great weekend for robbing houses (they can make as much noise as they like breaking in). That's why I'm staying in.
Shotgun loaded
Sat facing the window
Rocking back and forth in my chair
<makes note to see doctor about nervous twitch in my right eye>

Chavs love their fireworks, utterly pointless celebration of **** all.
I blame all the supermarkets for doing the 2 for 1 deals on fireworks.
At least my neighbour had the decency to come around and tell me was setting some off.

Well, it's been going on since 5th Nov 1605 so it's probably a bit futile griping about it now.
Granted though it's a bit pikey setting them off in your own garden, and a total waste of money.
We went to an organised display last night, cost £4 each to get in - well it would have done of they'd had people on all the gates.
Only one reason to buy fireworks IMO, Wales Rally GB!!

We have 2 dogs and a cat. . . the cat has been sat in the window all night watching the fireworks and the dogs have been in and out all night as usual.
None of them are bothered/upset by the fireworks, it's all in the training!

As far as public sales go, they should be banned. You can buy "low grade" explosives out of a supermarket (but high grade enough to be lethal with a little tampering), but you can't be licenced to own a sporting pistol for target shooting - the stupidness in that is astounding.
Should be kept to organised displays, with the explosives handled by a professional who actually knows what they're doing - rather than some numpty with more money than sense who bought them from Asda three hours previously.
In my opinion. *ahem*

Don't mind them but the Celebration is the 5th of November!!!!!!
When I was a young kid in the 70's bonfire night was special, it was one night when the sky was alive and the air was full of bonfire smoke.
Now it just goes on and on for two weeks and the weekend before and after are hours of bangs and flashes.
It's all supposed to be for the kids but we've spoilt the majic IMO.
Cheers

I think fireworks should be banned, yobs abuse these blowing things up left right & centre, they fire them at emergency services and passing cars... gets worse year by year.
and for the tree huggers;
Think of global warming, all these fires and fireworks releases some nasty **** into the atmosphere
