I finally got through to Polaroid customer services who have advised me there is no code available yet and they don't know when a code will be available. WTF do I do now then?
Obviously an email has been sent

Sorry, but I don't get it. You've bought a new TV and it's Sky's fault that their remote doesn't work it? Hmmm...

PS Sky customer services is in Livingstone, Scotland. Not India.

I'm on a contract at Sky right now.
You may be getting Indians in Livingston (sorry about the earlier spelling) but you're not getting an Indian call centre.
And if I misunderstood your post then I apologise - the tone certainly implied that you thought it was Sky's fault.

if you have all the manual etc that came with the sky box etc the remote codes are in there i think.
i got sky back in may and it came with all the manufacturers codes to tune the remote in with the sky box.

Have you tried the method given in the manual for sky? If not you have to follow the proceedure as if you had the code, as follows:
Press "tv" on the remote
hold "select" and the "red" button the remote for 2 seconds until the light on the remote blinks twice.
press "tv" on the remote
key in any 4 digit code (as you don't have the correct one)
press "standby" on the remote (if the tv now switches off you've got lucky first time and then need to press "select" to store the number)
if it doesn't switch the tv off you need to press "tv" and then "standby" repeatedly until the tv does switch off and then press "select" to store the code.
Hope that works!
