Hi Folks,

A quick question...

We have the YP lady in at the moment. We are thinking of coming out and redirecting the money to another form of marketing.

If you run your own business, are you in it?

And if you arent, do you use it?

And if not how would you look for a service that you required for business?

yup pay them approx 2k per year for a large advert

but i believe that in the near future i will pull out and not bother, the internet is taking over and pretty much everybody googles nowadays!

Adwords is probably the most cost effective way to advertise these days. That is of course if you have a website to accompany your business.

Do you not track where leads are generated from? This could really help you determine your advertising spend over the next 12 months.

I do have my own business but don't advertise in YP as I know that YP isn't the place people go looking when they want what I have to offer (oooeeerrr!) So I guess it really depends what your business is.

I use Yell fairly regulalry, but haven't seen the point in delivering the printed YP to everyone for sometime now. I'm sure some folks still use it, but mine goes right in the recycling!

We do track where leads come from and the amount of work we get from it doesn't justify the cost anymore. Most of our work comes from repeat business or word of mouth.
