Default Road Legal off road buggys - Joyner

Hey all,

Have been thinking of getting one of the Storm Joyner off road buggies for a laugh. Been looking at the 650cc road legal varient.

Does anyone have any experience of them, and are there any forums out there? I have been googling but no luch as yet!

Cheers

These sort of things were everywhere in Kos when I was there earlier in the year. Mostly 250cc varients which were dog slow. Looked like fun though.

[http://www.stormbuggies.com/joyner650ccroadlegal.html]Clicky[/url] - looks cool

THere were a few 250cc buggies where we stayed in France last year and they looked like a laugh but a bit wimpy - 650 seems like the way to go.

If only they did a road legal version of the 1100cc.....

Can i just ask one small favour, if you do buy one, and intend to use it on the byways arounbd the country, please don't drive too fast, or in a reckless manner, i have a tricked up discovery that i use for offroading and club trials, and the odd spot of greenlaning.....

It doesn't do the 4x4 fraternity any good at-all, when people with these types of buggys go hairing along the lanes, also those that ride dirt bikes on the lanes sometimes ride far too fast, which gets peoples backs up.... any of the anti 4x4 brigade will then use this to try and close the lanes..... which would be bad for all concerned.......

I hope you get what you're after, and enjoy it....!!

ron, one of my best friends brother designed something called a bowler wildcat, so I can tell you honestly, thats the last thing I would personally do, and its not what I intend on using it for, I can borrow the real thing if I needed to

alaister, do a wider search, that 500i monster is expensive, but a pgo 250 can be got for about £3000 new, and about £2000 second hand.

Hi Ron - It's mainly for use on salisbury plain.

The anti- anything petrol brigade has already mean that most of the greenlanes around me have been closed off - Motorised vehicles not allowed on RUPP's. Also 'The Ridgeway' being a prime example.

Hi Chris, you even need to be careful on the Plain, i'm not a million miles from there, and there are lots of byways over it, it depends on which patrol you get to see, it seems some mp's don't mind the odd 'offtrack' adventure, but others will moan like crazy.....

Have fun, but ideally legal fun!!

3-5k

You'd be better buying a landrover and sticking a winch on the front.

Haha at pic 5, less approach speed next time maybe.

The old ones are best anyway, I defy that "thing" to go anywhere these old boats used to go

great for cruising and using on green lanes though.

My picture was a green lane

Well that's what we called then in the 90's.
It's all gone namby pamby "play day / pay and drive" parks now, and even those are no fun.

The Foss way used to be our weekend sorted it would take that long to get down it.
Now they have "restructured" it you could drive a ford escort down it.
Or one of "them things"
