Default Dental Insurance

I've got to get two crowns done (on my upper front teeth). the first one is a replacement for a crown on a tooth i broke aged 7. the other one i broke biting a pen years ago. the filling I have on it keeps breaking and i've been advised to crown it.

Obviously I want the expensive (best looking) ones, so treatment is nearly £800. I'd like to insure them, but i don't want traditional dental insurance as my teeth are good and i rearely need anything more than checkup and polish.

Anyone know of a plan?

Accidental Pete. I had a quote for £800 cover at £54 per year. Seemed a bit steep as "hopefully" chances of paying out are slim.

Statistically all dental insurance is not worth it....I'd always suggest "pay as you go"

Something like Procera from a reputable laboratory will come with a guarantee against clinical failure in the first 3-5 years anyway. Once a crown has been in for a while the likelyhood of mechanical failure due to faulty construction is low.

Remember that the fee for the crowns has a built in extra element to cover the cost of having to replace them if they go wrong if faulty....about 5% of crowns fail due to a variety of reasons so the fee will be loaded by at least that amount.

just stick a few extra quid in the bank and pay again if needed
