They closed the brooklyn bridge every nite for several days to film a huge scene from that... had something like 1500 extras... was kinda cool to see that being done!
The film is good...well worth seeing.

I'm sure a few more people have seen this now
Personally, I thought it was superb. Captured his loneliness brilliantly. Was quite moved at one point (you'll know which bit), well maybe just a little. Well worth seeing if you liked 28 Days. This gave me more an 'only person left on earth' insight than 28 Days did. Cracking.
Was this a PG13? I thought it would be at least a 15. Edit: look like it was rated 15.

And the Omega Man I believe was a remake of the original film adaption of the book, I Am Legend.
The dog does die in the original 1950's book, but the dog/main character relationship doesn't last as long in the book as its a lot more about solitude, and the fact that the main character is in fact the day-walking, killing creature that prays on the 'innocent' infected; hence they are scared of him and he is the ruthless killer - a reverse of the whole vampire legend thing - hence "I am legend".
This film however, seems to swerve away from the book in a whole list of ways - but that said it still looks pretty good.

Just watched this also. One thing I did notice is that there must be bits missing from this film. So there must be a Directors/Extended version waiting in the wings when it comes out on DVD. As an example that manequin in the middle of the street he spots. How did it get there as an example without giving too much away.

Yes I sort of got that. But how did they know it was one of the dummies he talks to at the video shop. Obviously there must be more to the film that didn't make it to the final theatrical release.

Went to watch it today, it's typical hollywood fodder albeit with a few nice production touches, particularly the attention to detail in a desolate new york.
Other than that it's a crock of bull.
More amusingly I was sharing the cinema with a gang of juveniles who seemed to think using their phones and talking throughout the movie was acceptable. After 5 mins I said 'SHUT THE **** UP'- this worked for around 10 mins then the noise level began to creep up. The largest male was wearing a 'beanie hat' so I kicked the back of his seat as he made some smart **** comments about an XTC overdose as the vampire/mutant in the movie fitted given exposure to daylight. He looked at me and I then snatched the beanie from the top of his head and threw it down the aisle. Along with the comment to all of them '**** with me anymore and I'll punch your ******* lights out you little *****'. This seemed to amuse some of the other patrons in the cinema who'd spent their time making 'shhhh' noises and complaining to each other about the little *****.
They were good as gold throughout the rest of the film and didn't dare even look at me when it finished.
Quite honestly I'd have been prepared to break the nose of the leader in order to teach them a lesson.
Little wakners.

Sounds good but I vented it all on little Ahmed, 17 year old, motorbike helmet toting leader of the 'backing down mouthy teenage *****'. I thought he was going to cry when his beanie went firing off down the cinema.
