Competition - spot the pixel
Remember that this pixel is flickering and flashing all the time, the photo simply shows how bright it is and its position:-
Is Currys correct in saying that I will have to live with it - or am I right in saying that I expect more for my £800??
All donations and opinions greatly received .....
Go easy on me - it's nearly Xmas

I'd like to know how they get round trading standards using their "pixel policies" when it's quite clear that the fault makes the set "unfit for use" ??

I asked that exact same question in the local TV shop today ...... he said that the Pixel Policy is simply a bullying tactic to scare buyers off going further with the complaint ....... but, they are on a very sticky wicket if it ever went to Court as it is clearly of Unsatisfactory Quality

Chap I used to work with had a bright red pixel permanently on and he ranted on about it for ages. We spent most of the weeks following pointing out red dots etc. Ended up shining a red laser pointer everywhere he looked

Before you go to court Pedro; I have another idea, that should ensure that it is dealt with by the EPT (which it isnt despite you writing to the right person). I will send you a PM when Im less busy.

Told Currys there was a change in LGE Policy and they said, "Take us to Court to make us take any action!" absolutely amazing attitude!

In law if the fault is reported within 6 months then it is presumed to have been there at the point of sale, so, it was there at the point of sale.

Have you sent a picture of the fault to the head of Currys along with a letter stating your intention to take them to small claims court?
You may well have done as I haven't read the other lengthy thread.

The video footage, together with these photos and the Sale of Goods Act, added together with Currys attitude .... should ensure success??

Letter before action has been sent and the expiry date for a response has passed - this will be going to litigation.
I didn't realise how well the photos would show it up - no modification to the photos either!
I'm feeling quite bullish now

I think you are going down the right path Pete that is totally unacceptable from Currys they should replace of repair under warrenty, they seem to want to bully you which is also an unacceptable thing coming from such a big retailer.
Keep on it and you will get the right result.

Could you not set up the TV in their car park (running off an inverter) or such like, and demonstrate the products they are selling , along with copies of their letters/reports they have given you, this, I am sure would spur them to do something, as all you would be doing, is putting off their potential customers.
Court is okay, but can be drawn out, and if it is annoying, a more immediate solution may be better for you.

all seems blatent to me! id be tempted to chuck it back through their window go on a rampage and loose all their customers in the shop! obviously a busy day is best! post a turd to LG HQ take the loss and buy another t.v after all i asume your loaded with some of your past posts! but then again being a smart *** you may win in court. either way i couldnt live with that! by the time i hit the last picture it was just jumping out at me! you could put it on ebay for a discount price and state it has 1 dead pixel!

Buy another under a no quibble money back guarantee. Then keep the new one and take the old one back
I certainly wouldn't put up with it Pete, and part of the reason I'm happy to stick with my aging CRT
