I've had a Sony Bravia set for almost a year now and its great. I'm no AV expert - just someone who is very happy with their telly; haven't a single complaint about it.

Dont forget the Bravia is just a range of TV's a bit like Ford is a range of cars.
There are small one's big one's, more than six different levels of technology and a massive range of prices from under £500 to near £25k
Cheers

I've had the new Bravia 37 inch for about a month, Very nice TV i must say.
Xbox 360 in HD is wow, Inputs are all i need, All connected to my sony surround system no problems and its really good.
Paid £570 delivered from Dixons with online web voucher, good deal considering Samsungs, LG's are more £££.

I own one of them in silver. Very good set. Had mine for over a year now, and have SKY HD, XBOX 360 connected up to it. No problems so far, and very good display, even on the in-built freeview. The Gadget show named the successor the Sony 20s30 it's best 20" LCD HD buy for 2007.

Prospective buyers should be aware that there are many different Bravia ranges. The cheaper ones sold in Currys and supermarkets arent too clever. The higher models in the range (formerly the V & Ws when Currys sold the S) use the same LCD panel but the controller boards are all different.

dont get hooked on numbers, ask someone that works or sets up these tv's and they will tell you, yes the sony will give a mint STILL picture with its ress but, it will still be in the pioneers shadow with everything else
thats why both the 50" and 42" pio's are at this time the best you can get

Funny you should mention this model, as the 46"er is the most suitable insurance replacement for my KDL40W. No amplifier but 1080 native resolution, +6" and still well over £1,000 (than mine cost) cheaper at the Meadowhall Sony shop!

No; I had/have a KDLW (as opposed to a KDLS) which was so much better it was untrue. This was apparent when you compared them side by side and more surprising when you realise that the actual TFT panel and backlight assembly are similar parts. The current equivalent of this is the KDLX (although it doesnt have the built in amplifier).

I was looking at the Bravia's too as I'm thinking of getting a 32inch LCD of some kind next month, not too worried about make / quality more interested in price - about £500 - £600, hopefully will get one in the sales and if Tesco's are selling a decent one I can get discount on my dad's card .

You maybe right, i may have been mistaken, but the store had just re-opened after having a big extension and re-fit, and the staff were waffling on about some fantastic opening day offers and special promotions.
