I LOVE this weather, winter rocks I looked at my weather station this morning and it was reading 4°C outside. I admit to feeling a little bit upset that it was so much warmer than yesterday, fortunately it's now dropped to 3°C

That would be perfect There's a vague possibilty it might snow due to warm westerlies coming in off the Atlantic bringing rain then hitting the cold easterlies that we're currently experiencing - apparently We're off over to deepest Appletreewick in t'Dales for Christmas Eve so the snow ideally needs to hold off until we're back home

With Olga being only the 10th named storm to have developed in December since records began in 1851... I feel pretty safe
"Olga was a weak storm as it hit Puerto Rico, recording winds of just 45mph (75 km/h), what it did pose as a more serious threat though was torrential downpours"
Pretty chilly at the mo now though, 22 degrees, but then again it is 5am
Just for the record.... I do love the cold weather too, just pissed off that I cant make the most of it and go snowboarding as planned, so getting the hell away from the cold for a week

We were in Bayahibe which is south-eastish i believe (caribbean coast). Thats where they do Island trips to Saona and Catalina plus diving excursions. Out flight went into Punta Cana. The hotel was sunscape casa del mar which was a tasty place - plus there was plenty of food! It was shorts weather everyday ! In fact, why did i come home maybe check out your resort on google earth?
Heres a tip, if they try n charge you for overweight baggage on the way back, stick a $10 tip in your passport and they'l make it go away oh and check out the Brugal Anejo rum its m m m mmm

Its 28 out there now and clear skies, almost midday, so im liking watching the weather.
Who did you fly out with out of interest?
Food seems to get a good mention from all reviewers Did you go on any trips or just stay in? As for overweight baggage, im hoping I wont be taking much anyway, its only a week and we have a 23kg allowance

Not a drinker anyway, so will more likely be on the soft stuff, etc.
Trying to stay on the healither options of food too.
Plan is to run each morning to keep the old ticker going, and spend some time in the gym Oh and catch some sun
Anyone get a massage out in the DR ? Just wondered what the prices are like. And yeah I mean a proper one not a "massage" with extras lol

Lovely picture, and a lovely location for the big day, would have to do the same I reckon
As for eating healthy, I have not eaten ANYTHING for over 6 weeks now, so not capable of shovelling vast quantities of food down my neck, nor rich ones, so will be going easy.
Who did ya fly out with ?

flew out with thomas cook or thompson (blue airbus I think it was - definately blue) went first class, only way to fly long haul in my opinion
On the way back as well if you get the chance pay the $10 to use the exec lounge in punta cana, lovely and chilled and everything is free

Last winter holiday I had was in Chiloe, a tiny island off Chile, 1000 kms north of the south pole. My ********* only just cane back down, last week. Enjoy your german sun lounger snafflers and watered down all inclusive booze
