Im amazed its Johnny Evans. I though initial reports suggested Nani, but obviously not.
Johnny Evans has a reputation as a level headed well mannered young man, who came up through the ranks.
Has he been arrested for it?

Many old chesnuts are based on truth
If he's guilty, that pretty much knocks the "level headed young man" point on the head, doesn't it?
If he's not guilty of rape, then he's guilty of being stupid enough of getting himself into a situation that he shouldn't have. Its not like its never happened before, after all....

She'll be some slag who loved the fact a footballer was talking to her. she'll have got spit roasted and now realises what a **** she's been but cant face telling her boyfriend so is crying rape. My lack of sympathy is down tot he fact it's happened numerous times before and nothing ever comes of it.

STi is right, although Johnny Evans is probably the last United Player you would want to be lining up for an allegation of rape (if it was not true). At his stage, being that is is still on kids books and in digs he will only be on around 400 a week (despite what most would think!) and really he's no different in terms of salary/status than most of us on here on that money.
Its an odd one, hope its not true for the victims sake. The death penalty should exist for this offence still in this country imo

On the other hand, he is a hugely exciting prospect for United so I hope that the claims are false.

Premiership footballer, Xmas party, rape allegation.
How predictable. Without jumping to conclusions either way, you'd think Sir Alex would do something to chaperone his children as clearly they can't look after themselves
How sad is that?
Richard.

Nothing comes of 92% of rape allegations: are you suggesting 92% of them are false?
Someone more cynical than myself might point out that football teams can afford far better lawyers than the CPS. And the fact that it only takes one person on a jury to think like you and any footballer can get away with rape.

Excellent comment
Anyone who commits rape, should be castrated. It is a vile thing to happen and many do not get reported because of this belief, the woman is making it up. I think not. Ask any victim

If the victim is found to be making it up then he's going to be known as a rapist for the rest of his life. However, if he did do it, then cut his goolies off!

Aye, trial by media.
Not to mention our famously unbiased reporters. That being BBC TV's news report being delivered in a biased one-sided manner as well - i.e guilty!

I know what he meant. No offence Steve, but this is why so many women don't report this ghastly crime. It's always, oh no, he would not do that. Well some of the time, he did.
Not always, I grant you, but at the end of the day, you have to be a woman to understand true feelings on it.
Footballer or not, he has been accused,he is not a God, just a footballer. Does not give him the right to force.
IF he is innocent, all well and good, but chances are he is not and meridian hit the nail on the head with his comment

And some of the time it's made up by some lass who's cheated on her boyfriend and is feeling guilty about it.
Don't get me wrong, it's a despicable crime, but let's not judge him until he's been to court (if it gets that far)
Innocent until proven guilty

The story doing the rounds is she was in the hotel with her bloke and left him to party with the United players. she returned some hours later and said she was raped....

Typical, another judge/jury/executioner Why "chances are" ?? What evidence are you privy to, to make this comment?
If he's guilty, string him up. If she's lying, string her up. At the moment NO-ONE knows either way so just leave it to the powers that be to do their jobs.

The law is a joke in that he is being dragged through the media and his reputation is in tatters no matter what without any proof as we know yet. If he's found guilty then throw the book at him but as the law stands a lot of men are victims as well.

That's very narrow minded: Shame on you
You Won't win: Your judging him as guilty, which could easily be the opposite.
50:50 probability at best
If you didn't know who it was, you could not judge that person. Unlike the media.
Fact is: It's an allegation
The accused has not been charged.
Make of that what you will.
