Question Has Anyone Loaded SP3

Yet ... for Windows XP?

I did think maybe the Computer Forum - but it's such a universal question I thought maybe NSR?

Not been offered that particular update by M$, though I do tend to keep it all up to date as advised by the update program. Therefore I'm guessing it's just all the patches released since SP2 bundled up into a single package.

No doubt they'll be dropping the support for XP soon anyway and only doing Vista updates

Thats a point, it's probably just all the updates from SP2 to date. I, too, have been keeping up to the minute updates.

Not so sure about that. I have noticed that XP seems to be staging somewhat of a come back. For instance Dell have started offering it as an option on machines where 4 months ago they only offered Vista.

I have Vista on one of my machines but really found it too flaky with some of my peripherals so currently it dual boots into XP and I use XP most of the time. Vista looks very nice, but for me there are no upgrades worth the extra hassle as yet.

A pity they dropped the Internet filing system from the final release as that had a lot of proimise.

It's not officially been released yet.

There is a "leaked" version out there on the interweb though

SP3 is a Release Candidate NOT a finished product.

The d/l is 330Mb and the final product will be about 75Mb. So you're best NOT installing it unless you're a developer. There will be all sorts of bug checking code in there that will slow things down in daily use.

Wait for the final consumer release before installing it
