It is utter stupidity ............ I abandoned a full trolley a few years ago in Tescos when I saw the queues for the tills extending down the isles!!
Now, I send the wife ..........
But, it truly is mad - it is people shopping for ONE single day ... in our house we can go for a week without fresh food - why is it different at Xmas?

I think its a never ending saga every year Pete.
The shops are closed for 2 days max. Why the urge to buy umpteen loaves of bread & half shares in a farmers herd.
The mind boggles.
If I run out, I`ll just use the local shop.

The BP garage near my office has a sign out saying it's open 24hrs, including Christmas Day. So if you run out of chocolate Hob **** or baked beans, still no problem!

People think it is the end of the world although shopping for that fate is pointless people get Xmas fever and want to be lavish where they would probably normally not be - utter madness, home shopping is the way to go get it all delivered to your house avoid any problem with busy isles etc and fights as they do it all for you

I hate shopping generally but even more at this time year, so much so, that I swore last year that it would be me last Christmas shop ever and that I would get all the food shopping online.
So 2 weeks ago I logged onto Sainsburys to book a slot. The latest date I could get was the 19th December!!. So guess where I'm going Christmas Eve....ARGH!

I`m buying all my veggies etc from the local farm shop. Therefore putting money back into the farming community instead of swelling the supermarkets coffers
Forward thinking, the way ahead

asda across the road from the car wash, had a full car park at 8am
i`m sorry but i just dont get it, most normal people do the shopping in advance as it only takes half a brain cell to work out the ques will be huge, its like people get this "must spend money" feaver
cant complain mind as the wash has been rammed all day so far, and everybody is getting the top wash

I had to nip to Sainsbury's on Thursday, and the car park was packed! I actually had to park between two cars, rather than way over the back like I usually do!
It was horrible in there!

I have a strange feeling I'll need it. Luckily, I'll be 3 parts p1ssed by this time, so it should go some way to numbing the pain. If I get any static from anybody 'tillside' I'll just make like Rab C and kick off
