HDMI Plasma or LCD?
As above, which is better for gaming/dvd's?
Looking to replace my phillips 32' lcd with a HDMI equipped version. (Just got an Xbox 360 Elite! )
Any recommendations for around the £500-£600 mark?

I've got both and seen numerous examples of both including my uncles top of the range LCD. I prefer plasma to be honest - it just gives a more natural picture. That said, LCD can certainly deliver a WOW picture to secure a sale such is its clarity and colour.

I like LCD. LCD is good. Plasma is bad. I know this because my LCD tele is more gooderer than my friends plasma. It's a little taste of heaven that doesnt cost the earth.

Yeh you can make me an offer on my brand new Panasonic TX-32LXD70 which i have just bought from Richer Sounds with full reciept, its just sat in the box at the min. This tv has had top reviews and is probably the best 32 inch LCD on the market at the min, current Richer Sounds price is £649.
The reason i am selling is that i made a slight mistake in that i can comfortably get a 42 inch tv in the room where the tv will eventually go!

I'm thinking of buying the 37LXD70, but I'm thinking, will i really need full 1080p HD?
I'm going to be using Sky Digital, an xbox 360,a dvd player (HD if I buy full HD ready) and a media centre.
But I cant decide whether to spend the extra money.... I could save a few £100 and buy a plasma which is only HD ready but I've heard is good (37PX70)

i used to work for currys intalling tvs and i have both panasonic and samsung 32" lcds.the samsung has a gaming mode but the panasonic is also a great tv.if you go into currys they usually have all their consoles running through a samsung so if its going to be used for an xbox id go for a samsung mate

My recommendation:
Either
Samsung F86 ,M86, or M87 all LCD
I have the M86 with a HD DVD Player and a XBox 360 HD FANTASIC!!!!
Do your research tho, some many tv's to choose from!!

As with many of the panny TVs, the 70 will be the normal TV with normal speakers, the 700 has extra speakers etc. TV-wise, no difference and a complete waste of money if you've got an AV system.

I've been roped into going TV shopping with my brother tomorrow as my minuscule amount of TV knowledge beats his by quite a margin.
I've already written off 1080p as being pointless for them, and as they don't want anything bigger than 37" it'll be an LCD because of cost.. so it should be quite simple

Yes I did mate cheers but the bttt was for Rob as I was wondering where he was from as he was selling one. I am sick of looking. I quite like the black 32" samsungs ranging from £420 to £700. They all look the same but the model numbers are slightly different. It's doin my head in.
