If so did you regret it or find it a rewarding thing to do?
Apparently this year has been a bad year for them and rescue centres are looking for people to rehome sick or injured ones. My sister brought it up today as she knows we have a suitable enclosed garden and can get a hedgehog house from a garden centre/make one. I've always enjoyed wild animals/birds in the garden so thought i'd look into it.
Been having a good read here British Hedgehog Preservation Society
Seems to be something we could do but at the same time don't want to be jumping into something that involves loads of vets bills looking after the little creature. Rehoming is one thing, spending an arm and a leg taking care of it its a different matter.
Just wonderd if anyone here had ever done it?

Do it, you wont regret it. Rehomed two several years ago. Enjoyed it, but they were old enough to be able to feed themselves. Remember they can climb extremely well ie a metre of vertical chicken wire fence.

Thanks for the reply. Also by reading up found that the fact they have fleas shouldn't be an issue as the fleas they carry are unique to hedghogs and can not survive on other creatures. Plus they can be treated with a simple powder to rid them of the fleas/ticks anyway. Will phone a couple of places Thursday and enquire. Also as its the middle of Winter I presume the rescue centres don't actually rehome them until the start of Spring as you can't just put them outside in a new garden when they should be hibernating for another couple of months.
