Default Does anyone here work for Orange? Help Needed

Recieved a thretening phone call about 2:15 this morning. Is there any way to find out who a phone is registered to from the number. Does anyone here have any inside info on the subject?

I changed my number a while back as I no longer use it for work and have been given a dedicated work phone. the number must be re-issued and i keep getting texts and phone calls, not abusive or anything, it's just a pita.

I looked at what they can do and it's not a great deal, they can't block or trace all you can do is write down occurances and report to police(if abusive). If it was aimed at you they can change your number once for free.

It was to my home phone FROM an orange mobile. This number is ex-directory etc. The number is never given out to anyone except very close friends/family.
I do appreciate it could be some **** pissed up at new year, but all the same, I would like to know a bit more about them.

Ah I see, so a BT issue really. Same advice applies, you need to report to BT and the police if you deem it serious enough. you could call it and prefix your number by 141 to hide it and have a chat to see whether it was a mistake. Maybe they just misdialled?

Two things spring to mind,

1) If it was from an orange mobile, it could be an unregistered pay as you go phone, in which case impossible to trace back to the owner.

2) are you sure it was an orange phone, just because the dialling prefix is an orange one does not mean its an orange phone. For example, my mobile prefix is 07921, which is an o2 number, but my phone is infact on T-Mobile because I ported the number to another network.

I have Googled the number with no results. I have called the number but it rings then goes to voicemail (Orange). Police were informed due to having young children in house. Have no enemies. It is just fustrating that they can run their mouth over the phone but dont have the ***** to back it up by answering so I know who it is.

Do what I would do which is to wait a few days then ring from a completely unknown/friends mobile - people's curiosity normally leads them to answer it
