I always remember a lecturer complaining about some students' English in submitted essays, and particularly about "whether". He said there are three ways of spelling it. We all knew two. Once he explained what a "wether" was, there were a lot of red faces amongst the freshers and I don't think people made that mistake again.

if i look in my old copy of razzle, i can see dark marks over "minge" "quim" and "slimepit"

I would have spelt 'come' wrong in that case then
