Costume Drama
WTF is that all about, god I f*cking hate them, the missus is sat there watching one at moment eating Turkish delight, I am not allowed to speak, much less type on the Laptop so banished to the kids computer for a good old rant.
I really cannot beleive that back then everyone was so well mannered, polite and never swore, that everyone was so eloquent and articulate. How is it the men in these are all either Hapless Berks, Old Buffers, Handsome Stable Boys or Rakish good looking Cads, the latter of which is always a bit of a clever, sneering b4stard alpha male but is always able to be taken down a peg or two by some smart arsed matriarch usually played by Judi Dench, when he is getting his come uppance which is always a bit drawn out, just after she delivers the killer line to which he has no answer,
"But Mr D'arcy, if I be so bold it is you that is a right C*nt"
There is always two young girls laughing coyly into their hands, just before he stomps out with a face like a slapped ****.
The the leading lady ***** him anyway, or at least you think they might as there is no actual action, if there is any flesh on show its usually minimal and fleeting.
It is lady ****, pure and simple, blokes are simple creatures and very visual and like to see naked women, **** and fannies etc, women like all the cerebral romance stuff, they like to see the nasty (but develishly handsome) leading man told off a bit, they enjoy the posturing and pouting, hiding behind a fan, delaying the ineviatable ********.
So if you want to get your missus red hot for it, wear a frock coat, grow your hair a bit floppy and get a horse.
