Question Estate Agent Fees ?

Hi All,
Thinking of putting the house on the market, whats the going rate for a gel'd hair, mini driving chav, I mean estate agent?
1%, 1.25% or more, I know the difference isn't a great deal in the whole scheme of things, just need to be able to negotiate at an educated level.
I also understand the principle behind not paying the bare minimum and thus getting a pants service.

Thanks in advance

Ian

Depends on the value of the property you are selling & whether they are the sole agent. But yes, 1.25-%1.5% is about right.

Also, there is no such thing as "good" service in the Estate agent business - It's just varying degress of "pants" - Ranging from utterly ****e to mildy annoying.

Thumbs up

Pete,
Cheers, house value is about 330k, will probably be sole agent. And I'm under no illusion what type of useless to**ers I'll be dealing with!

on a 300k house they will take £3,000 flat if pushed ..... and there are loads of great agents out there - anyone that selects a **** then pays them is fool.

If its any help my fee for a £300K house was going to be £4000.

They were very reputable agents, but they still ****ed up... Eventually costing them the sale and hence the commision.
