Got my home insruance renewal yesterday, wanted just over £33 per month for buildings and contents. Been with the same company for 3 full years and this is approx a 50% increase on the previous year even though no claims have been made.

Quick check on moneysupermarket.com and the AA came in at about £22 per month for slightly better cover.
Went to their website and got an even better deal at £19 per month - Result


Moral of the brief story is to shop around
