I am in complete awe of this guy's talents

It's his comment at about 2 mins 7 secs that makes me chuckle, "bit damp so i'm taking it easy"

Pretty academic I know but he should know those roads as he was born there and lived there until recently

Our claims to fame:
- when I did the Forest Experience, Mark was the instructor
- my son co-drove a Manx Rally in a well-sorted (250bhp Red Top) and pretty rapid Mk1 Escort a couple of years ago. On the last stage, down to the TT grandstand, their time was 13min xxseconds. Mark Higiggins' time was in the region of 8mins 30sec

David Higgins (marks brother) use to drive for a Team / Company I use to work for.
We had just got a brand new WRC Subaru and he totalled it on its first outing
In the years mark worked for us he had never (seriously) bent a car .. It just had to be that one.
Mark also drove for us near the end ..

Well, keeping the one upmanship going...
- my son also sat with David Higgins doing some Evo testing/shakedowns on his work experience stint (his, not David's!) at the Mitsubishi World Rally Team a few years ago
- he also sat with Matt Wilson doing the shakedown of the WRC Focus's that M-Sport supplied for the Race of Champions last month. 100mph four wheel drifts "laughing our heads off" etc etc...
...and missed the chance, since he was skiing in the USA, of flying down to the Autosport show with Malcolm Wilson in his helicopter last week...

That clip...the words "good driver" spring to mind. No fear is Ari vat up pike's peak, or that french hillclimb maniac blasting through mountains at warp 10.

I'm speechless at the hillclimb one. The speed that car has is incredible, makes you realise how fast they actually are when not on a track
Goosebumps are just going now

If I'm not mistaken, that was quite early in Higgins' career, in the GpN Civic?
And just for fun, here's a little bit of what the current WRC is missing (badly)

Ari Vatanen was my hero in my younger days.
Somewhere I have a photo of the MkII Escort he totalled on his first RAC rally drive for Ford. He hit a jump too fast, in Clipstone Forest north of Nottingham, front end went down before the rear onto a rising track, dug in, and the car did approx SEVEN end-over-end somersaults.
Took out three mature pine trees too
