I used to be in the same situation. My solution was strengthening my back. Now I can do all types if sit-ups and crunches.
As well as crunches as per above, you also want to do reverse crunches.

1. Sit firmly upright on the sofa, when your boyfriend clicks his fingers for a cuppa you gently lean forward at which point you should feel your abs tighten up and then you proceed to do what he requests. Do that on a regular basis and you will see some great results in not time.
2. Washing the dishes, what you need to do is to have all your cupboards below sink height so when you have done the washing up you will need to bend down to put the pots and pans into the cupboards, this is a great abs excercise with all that bending down so make sure you get plenty of practice at it.
3. This is my favourite one, when your boyfriend is sat in his nice comfy armchair and you are on the sofa and he clicks his fingers for the remote control you will find that all that constant stretching over to pass him the remote will have your abs nice and tight in no time. Don`t start getting lazy though by telling him to get it himself, you need to show good discipline as slacking doesnt get you anywhere.

Leg lifts? Lie on your back, legs straight, feet 3in off the floor, raise up to 45deg, back down to 3in off the floor, repeat 20, 50, 100 etc times.
Hated sit-ups, could do 100 but they burned the flesh off my spine.
