Progress on the demolition of the house next door going well now.
Sad really, 110+ years there, in the middle of 2 identical houses. Add 1 greedy developer, and 110+ years of history gone![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Gutting to see it just about still there, and "in pain"

The red bricked rear picture?
Thats the unauthorised new rear extension they had built. Had to tear it all down too.
Was in a bad way after the partial collapse. As in the older pics on the gallery. HERE. CSOC Gallery - House Collapse
For those that missed them....

Similar thing happened to us. Lovely old barn, pulled down before planning permission granted for a rebuild. It was over 100 years old. We now have a monstrosity behind us, using the same stone, but with absolutely no character. Criminal

My local authority have a track record of refusing changes, and insisting on keeping character.
Also the local community are really pissed about it all, and vow to challenge any PP put in for anything but victorian style.
Fingers crossed eh

My house is about 150 years old, his looks ridiculous and totally out of character with the area. He got away with it, lined pockets in the Council, methinks

Typical builder Snazy, he did it and it was too late for the Council to do anything about it. He is a waste of space. There was bats living in that barn too.

Dulwich have some modern houses being built behind old exclusives, which is a shame.
The worst part is I LOVE the designer of the new ones so am torn which are nicest. They clash a bit, but its 2 plots so easier on the eye.
There are 3 of my style houses, the middle one is going, so that leaves one either side. It would be criminal to allow something modern in the middle.

Well, the disappearing house is finally all gone, and for those interested you can see into the basement area to see exactly "what went wrong" Even the untrained eye can see it was never going to stay up.
You can also see the extensive work done by MR Scaffolders to secure the foundations the best they could. At least someone did something right.
Will post some pics tomorrow. But for now, im glad its over.
