Bought a new car recently, and I've just gone to remove one of the rear wheels, and found the locking wheel-nut bit is missing!!!! ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Anyone been in this situation before? How much is it likely to cost to get the nut drilled off? Or can I just go to the main dealers (Audi) and get them to supply me with a new bit?
Any help appreciated!!!

Take it to an Audi main dealer. They will have a set of locking nut adaptors. By a process of trial and error they should be able to find one that fits your car in their set and order a replacement for you.

If it's the type that have a series of splines around the outside, you can hammer a slightly smaller socket over them and remove them using a ratchet.

Audi/VW locking wheelnuts are generic.
When i had to get one for a golf GTI, the spanner monkey brought a load out from out the back and tried one after another, till he found one that fitted.
If that doesnt work, gator grip ftw.
astraboy.

Perhaps an easier and more sensible solution is that I suggested where he doesn't ruin his locking wheel nuts and pays less than a tenner for a new one?
Although obviously not as much fun as smashing and wrecking things.

Thanks for the info guys
I've noticed you can get locking wheel nut removal things on ebay pretty cheap, so tempted to try one of them.
The locking nut its got is one where its like a star-shape on the inside, but with lots of points, ie 15 - if you get what I mean! Seems the removal tools have lots of pins which poke into the locking nut, then must fix so you can just turn it. Could be worth a go?

On the easier side, going into the garage right now and doing it in less than 10 minutes is what I'd call easier than waiting until you have the opportunity to go to an Audi main dealers.
