They're also coding it into games now (Ubisoft IIRC) - at the last game conference, Philips were promoting a ambilight thing for the PC (inc subs etc)

Looks daft and adds nothing.....
I don't get it really - Pioneer are trying hard to make as black a border/screen as possible (and doing a damn fine job), and Philips are hell bent on these daft coloured lights and coloured bezels. Daft....

I have a Philips monitor that has a "light frame" and that is really good. You can set it to Internet, TV or Photograph and it makes the pictures look much better.
