Yep !! saw it too !!!
Dunno what everyone else thinks but rekon WRC should find another Presenter !!!
He just don't seem to fit the Bill or the Job, his wit is really funny ? I dont think ! and whilst I agree you have to present to people who may not know anything about the Sport, I felt like he is teaching us all to suck eggs !!!!
...and check out when he interviewed Loeb, he kept looking at the Cameras !!! does he fancy himself as WRC Presenter !!!
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact its on Dave Channel ? home of witty Banter NOT WRC !!!!!
Time to go !!!

i'm afraid i agree with Duracell 100% - he knows sod all about the sport and every other sentence was "exclusive access" this and that, trying to big himself up.
Whole thing was aimed at viewers who know nothing about WRC - there was loads of time wasted by him talking to the camera and not much actual footage of the stages. Maybe Dave need to realise that the people who are watching the programme actually know a fair bit about the WRC, and that we're only watching it because they bought the coverage.
At least Eurosports still running its 30 minute nightly programme over the rally weekends - i think i'll watch that instead.

Nope - it was all entertaining. Enjoyed the different approach to it. If anything, it will need some more technical input, but on the whole, a better format IMHO

Sorry, I have to disagree. Neil Cole knows all the drivers, cars and teams, he presented a rally show called shakedown for 2 years for the rest of the world. Yes, it's all a bit basic but it always is on a new channel. plus It'll be on EVERY WEEK, at 6pm, even on off weeks!

I'll admit Mathew Wilson got a bit to much attention, but he is the only Brit.

Actually, I'm happy to see Matt Wilson getting shown so much, but when you have 2 Subaru's and a Suzuki in the top ten and they don't even get a mention until 40 mins in, it's a pretty poor show. I don't just want to see the top 3.

I haven't decided what I thought about it yet! The access all areas comments were irritating, but at the same time there is far more likliehood of me watching the rallying as it is on at a fixed time every week.
Incidentially anyone watch the GT Racer programme after? That was different with no commentator!

Well I thought it was great, Neil obviously has a rapport with the teams and drivers, I appreciated the new approach, and on every week too.....
Looking forward to more of the same.
And I reckon it'll attract more watchers, which can only be a good thing.

I think he`s a great presenter but i just don`t think rallying is his area, he hardly knew anything techniccal and he filled the voids with some attempted comedy, like for example he said a normal car would be in a garage for about 2 weeks and these lads can do the job in 20 mins.
Lets just say if my car went to a garage for something like a gearbox change and they had it for 2 weeks i wouldn`t be happy

Liked it, good coverage and a new and refreshing angle to all the "only show the top 3" we've always had.
Liked the behind the scenes stuff too. Not seen the refueling thing before, so that's an insight. More of the same please

i hope that the "access all areas" becomes just that. It was ok if you havent watched a rally before but i thought the idea of moving the WRC to Dave was to show more action. The old WRC programme we had on ITV4 lacked action, the eurosport hightlights have 30mins a day, thats an hour and a halfs action, but on Dave and ITV its rounded up into an hour, of which at least 20mins was of general stuff! The presenter probably needs to be someone with a bit of experience, one of the guys of rally radio would have been good. They need a build up show on the Friday or Saturday going over the event location and driver interviews and then look at least an hours worth or rallying action.

Sadly the viewing figures for the WRC cant be very high or it would be on mainstream television, if you make it even more specialised then the viewing figures will drop further and it wont even be on Dave.
As it is Neils makes it amusing and easy to watch, so the wife and (grown up) kids will sit and watch it.

Probably caught the production team on the hop tbh - it's not like Subaru have been a world-beating team in the last few years.
The filming is usually decided in pre-production. It was a pleasant surprise to see SWRT doing very well though

Funniest thing was his face when Wilson Jnr took him for short spin, not seen faces being pulled like that since Jim'll Fix It was on telly...

For me the jury is still out , although i hope it improves. I almost peed myself laughing when he hit the guy and said "it doesn't matter he's French", couldn't believe he got away with that in these politically correct times.
Also not happy about the lack of Subaru coverage, like said already i was beginning to think they weren't even competing at this event.
Anyway i suppose i should just be thankful that the WRC is getting any coverage at sensible viewing times.
