Companies should (and do) offer accreditation in their speciality. If you attend some of the courses that my team run you can take an exam and then be a 'Proven Professional'.
However, they should not be mixed with the national curriculum and I find it very odd that they would even contemplate having a McDonald's A'Level equivalent.

I remember the graduate recruitment schemes for Mc D's
If you have a degree, you could pretty much go through to management status, get a company car, private medical, pension and start off on £18K+ and a £3k weighting addition if your stuck inside London! Not a bad salary for someone who has just left Uni.
Still, passed on the opertunity no matter how many stars I have on my name tag
. Although, considering I left Uni and struggled to find work that paid anything near that amount, it does make me wonder ![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
Anyhoo, running a Maccy D's appears tougher than what one intially expects: McDonald's Video game

In fairness I was told by one IT consultant that one of the things that caused most interest on his CV was McDonalds flipper, despite other more impressive jobs. Something about teamwork, pressure, training, etc.

I think it's an excellent idea.
* It will be paid for by McDonalds, Network Rail and BMI (or whoever it was) I would hope, which means the tax payer doesn't have to foot the bill
* Not everyone is cut out for university studies. I think the whole idea that everyone should have to go to uni (which seems to be what the govt wants) is revolting - it's not for everyone! This kind of vocational course could be great for kids who'd otherwise would have no prospects.
* On the job training is more valuable than poxy college qualifications anyway, in my opinion.
I can't stand this government and usually I don't like their policies as a matter of principle. This one however, I have to begrudgingly admit, seems like a good one.

* It will be included in reporting for GCSE and "A" level targets, so making the government look better:rolleyes;

I mean look at the facts.
He has his own place
He can afford speed boat lessons
He has an exotic girlfriend
Its worked out pretty good for Mr Squarepants, I wouldn't knock it chaps
