Default Work/sickness question, opinions please

You're off sick on a possibly work related issue.
The boss says he will call you for something, something that will eventually help with the issue that may have caused your absense, and get you back to work safely....

He fails to call you.

So you

a/ call in incase they forgot
b/ dont bother, its their problem
c/ write it down and prepare your case against the company further.
d/ other

I will just leave it at that for now, but just wanted to know what others would do.

PS, its NOT the first call that has not happened.

First off call them and if they don't come up with a reasonable answer as to why you weren't called or they try to fob you off then make a note of it all. If you are preparing a case then it could be worth recording the conversation to help you transcribe it however AFAIK the recording can't be used in court unless both parties knew they were being recorded at the time.

Let say in the past I have chased up the missed calls and received texts confirming he forgot or was too busy. Last time just before his holidays, he was too busy flat hunting......

I usually wait til the following day, then follow up. Its happened a few times now, and each time I am less and less inclined to chase or remind.

Good for you, your health is too important. Things started getting bad in a place I used to work and I jumped ship before it became a real problem. I was working 7am to 11pm 6 days a week by the time I escaped.

We have worked for months now, 9 hour day, no breaks, under pressure.

In short, I developed tendonitis in my left arm. Company doctor said work needed to change somethings to maintain their duty of care. They failed to follow up on these recommendations.
I went back to the company doctor about my arm, but by this time my right shoulder was causing grief too, over compensating for the non use of my left arm. This was highlighted.
He reported back again saying they MUST take action now.

Nothing.

2 weeks later is spread to back spasms, and I went sick.
Been off 6 weeks now, and they have STILL not made the changes they were told to.

And to add to it, seem disinterested in helping resolve the issues.
My health comes first... end of story.

Make a note of times and dates when everything happened (or didn't) with as much detail as possible.

Just covers your ***.

H&S advised and spoken to before me going off sick. No visit to the location, no assistance in getting a work place assesment done, and no ergonomic assesment done either. By local or top end H&S

All events logged Kinda saw this developing so made sure I did.

Don't just call them, write a letter stating your position. Keep a copy. If nothing, then write again.

Call to make sure it is recorded, also if you think they are not abiding by the current workplace H&S regs try a call to the HSE
