Default NHS dentist

Have to be honest and confess to neglecting Dentist visits since everything went odd on the dentist front.Just odd private visit when in agony.

Hopefully wife has sorted it.She has found a new local NHS dentist after patients. She has booked family in (myself, wife and two kids)

First appointment...April

Don't care though. The sense of having some normality on this really important healthcare is great.

Anyone know where all the dentists went too??

They are still there, it's just they only do private work now.

Please send complaints to Mr T. Blair.

We seems to have a few available around here, not in our village but if we travel into Nuneaton we are registered at one and there seems to be a couple of others with spaces!!!! could never ever find one in Brum when we lived there and on the plus side the NHS prices are fantastic!!!

New NHS Dentist just opened up in our town after they all went Private.

It's nothing to do with Politics - it's simple economics ..... if you could charge £75 for a filling from a Private patient who pays up front - why accept £25 from the Government when they finally get to pay you?

You can call it greed, and as it's a medical profession and we paid for their education we would expect something back, but - really, if you could earn a lot more you would, wouldn't you?

What makes the whole thing stink is that under the OLD NHS treatment it paid the Dentist to say you needed a Crown - remember how they always pushed crowns?? Now that they get the same money from the Government for a Denture as a Crown ... but a denture is cheaper, what are they doing?? Recommending Dentures!!!

So, rather than clinical need, it has become Dentists greed ...... which is where it is all wrong IMO

I think we should all stop paying NI and have it all private

everybody will then pay medical insurance and all will be well

if the people of the dole can't afford this option - get a job

There's an irony that a lot of people on here make their money from IT contracting and then complain when they have to go permanent at half the salary...

The tax and NI we pay isn't just to pay for what we personally spend on services, it's to support those of us in society who are less fortunate. Think of it as a modern day Robin Hood

BTW, I'm one of the lucky ones who has an NHS dentist and has not had a major problem apart from the 2 month wait for an appointment. There is an emergency service if needed too, but they will always recommend pulling out teeth now due to the financial incentives as set out above. Dentists are no longer public services, they are businesses.

I love the gas I had years ago....hummmmm gaaaaaassssssss!!! (Homer). Injections take all the fun out of it...I mean, you can see and hear what is going on. Under gas, you wake up under the ****, or bosom, of a buxom nurse...can't speak....ahhhhh....loved it!

None where I live, and the stupid targets mean that NHS care isnt what it should be, they have to see 8 patients a day, so any long procedures tend to
not to be done.
