Default Anyone split their NTL signal?

OK bare with me on this one.
I currently have NTL upstairs on a dedicated line, I have recently split the signal to downstairs and I am using The Box to get all my favourite channels
Now we also had sky downstairs but I have cancelled my contract and hope to sell the box and put it towards a Virgin V+ box.
Is there anything that will stop me from using the V+ box downstairs with all the usual functionality of NTL like I get upstairs? Or does the split signal interfere with this?

i enquired about this a while back and was told i could get a splitter but the 2nd box could only pick up what the 1st box was tuned into so i couldn't watch another channel at the same time.
The only way around this was to get another line in (another subscription) so i left it
