On the 18th of decembr i stepped on a stone and my foot rolled with it in to a
pothole smashing my 5th metatarsal.![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
They put me in a cast for 2 weeks, then i went back for another x-ray only to
find out that they didnt x-ray it properly last time
, they didnt bother to
x-ray down the side of my foot. They did second time only to reveal that the
bone was broken all the way down towards my heal (if you know what i mean).
Any way after discovering this they put me in another cast (By the way
you should of seen the cast they put me in last time LOL, all the way up to
under my knee
) but this time for a month!! and the doctor said that 90%
of the injury's i had resulted in a operation
.
Last thing i want because i am off work and bored out of my skull and i
cant drive with the cast on so cant go for a spin in the car
, and weather
is cak cant go for a walk so im stuck in the house.
So have any of you had this injury before?? would like as much info as
possible, like what does the operation involve, and how long will i be off
work, in other words how long after the op will i be heald?
Thanks in advance

I done mines in Nov 06. Broke my 2nd & fractured my 3rd on my right foot. In a plaster for 4 weeks. Bit of a nightmare at the time to be honest. Its healed ok although i still get a bit of niggling from it time to time.

Well I broke mine about 13 years ago and it reminds me of so quite regularily this time of year ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I have 1.5tonnes of steel roll onto it and the necks of my 5 toes on my left foot were broke by my steel toecap {which incidently saved my foot} also the main bone that runs from the big toe at the top of your foot displaced and tried to poke out through the skin {i have a circular scare in this location} all in all I had to have an operation too, which has left me with a 3inch scare from between my little toe and the one next to it and a 6in scare from between my big toe and the one next to it up my foot in the bone direction.
Needless to say I also had some metal work
which was metal hooks inerted into my bones and removed with a pair of pliers near to healing.
I was in a removable cast {so I could excercise my chipped ankle bone} for about 3 months.
it is not something I would want to go through again, it hurts.
My sympathies are with you m8.
