As per title, is there really any need to shred credit card bills, surely its just another case of scaremongering. I just rip then up then bin them.

depends where you live
i rip mine and bin them but my bin is in a locked enclosure and lifted privatly .
i see a guy go through bins on my way to work on residential streets so better to be safe than sorry if your bin is accessible.
a bit like hiding valubles in your car , dont make it easy for them and they will move on to the next easy target
