As the article on Wikipedia above says, it is a real problem in Japan. When I worked there, the women that I knew were genuinely worried about going on the tube because of it.

I remember seeing an interview with Moby where he said that his entourage entertain themselves at vapid celebrity functions by '**** rubbing' and he was proud to say that he'd 'got' Xtina Haguilera.

Insert two fingers, three if it is a big one.... make sure it is nice and wet, then move your fingers in and out and rub gently...... and that's how to wash a dirty cup! tsk if you were thinking of anything else.
