Unhappy Torn Achilles Tendon

Tore my achilles tendon last week playing squash and am in plaster for at least ten weeks.
Has anyone suffered the same injury and fully recovered and what did you do to ease the boredom?
Only been 5 days and am fed up already!
Cheers

thats a bugger mate, I've got achilles tendonitis at the moment, not as bad as a rupture, but at least yours is on the mend, I did mine 3 months ago and only now trying to get some sort of physical training done, i've got an achilles tendon strap off the internet, it helps quite a lot

The consultant who saw me said I had probably been sufferring from tendonitis. I guess its the result of years of running (On hard surfaces) and racquet sports.
I am more concerned that they won't operate which means the chances of rupturing it again are 40% as opposed to 0-5% with surgery. Not fully convinced that it's not a money saving option.
Had I been a professional sportsman I would have been operated on by now.

You can have them repaired but the recovery time is about the same and not sure the outcome is any better

The outcome is quite a lot better, but you're right the recovery time is the same.
