I think that any car parked on a public highway that isn't insured, taxed or MOT'd should have the windscreen smashed and tyres slashed - it's the only way to stop them being driven.

Some of the photo's he's sent me of the cars before they are reduced to component parts show some very nice motors. As nothing is supposed to be salvaged they have to totally destroy them.

I suppose the 3% insurance duty is nothing like so much as road fund tax or the fines for speeding so since this lot don't give a stuff for public safety or compensation then they will consider chasing uninsured drivers not worth the bother!
There was a time when no insurance was treated as a very serious offence.

The report I saw on the Beeb news stated that there were reckoned to be 1.5 million uninsured drivers in the UK and that even rich city slickers sometimes didn't insure as their premiums could be as high as £20k. These guys obviously don't give a hoot about the third parties that they may injure !.

I was hit in my scoob by an uninsured driver 5 years ago. The guy nearly killed me. £3000 worth of damage. As I had a £400 excess I was out of pocket as well. So I sued him for the excess. Case went to court and I won , that was 31/2 years ago. I have had just over £200 from him so far. Latest cheque only last week was for £11.86.
Yet I know the guy is working and driving around in another car (probably uninsured again). Scum!

i've reported a neighbours car 3 times for being untaxed - he uses it daily even though the tax expired 11/07 and no-one has clamped/ towed it
law abiding drivers are being forced to pay more and more while the scum pay nothing and get away with it

How about removing the schrader valve inserts out of all of his tyres - 4 flat tyres that won't re-inflate. Quick easy in-out strike. Just need the tool (most tyre pressure guages have one one built in the cap).
Alternatively, expanding foam up the exhaust.
Go on, you'll be doing all of us a favour
