was it a police traffic warden, or a council parking attendant?

Police = stuffed
Council = maybe, depending on their policies and the honesty of the warden.

If she did not get your tax number and got no pictures you can try and fight it. Is it worth the hassle? Do the crime pay the fine mentality may kick in.

If it was the old fashioned style traffic warden that shares the same style of uniform as the police, but with a yellow and black striped hat you are stuffed. That have police traffic powers, as do police officers, community support officers. They will normally just post it to you.

If it was one of these then you have pretty much had it:

Afaik, they have to physically (sp) put the ticket on the car, otherwise there's the risk that they are predating (timewise) the issuing of the ticket.

If she didn't place the ticket on the car you have got away with it

I am currently fighting a ticket I got where it was put on my car but the location stated was wrong and they didnt have time to take a photo before I drove off.

Have been through the councils appeal process, the a second appeal and I have now appealed to the NPAS (national parking adjudication service). I have an informal hearing with them on 12th March where I fully expect all charges to be dropped.

All good fun as I see it.

Private land patrolled by third party companies, basically wipe your *** with anything which comes through the post, it's unenforceable unless covered by the road traffic act (which it can't be on private land).

Understand why she's stupid by your own admission you where parked on double yellows and thats an offence so you deserve the ticket no arguments.
Why is it that people congratulate you on getting away with it

Why do you say the traffic warden is stupid to issue a ticket to you when parked on double yellows?

Just don't pay it. There is no evidence so your word against another. They'll never try & pursue it as it's not worth the hassle for them. Remember reading somewhere that you'll not hear from them again if you just ignore it.
