Mr Krudd has been in office only a few months, yes, it all appears rosy right now, although he's already performed a "U" turn on election promices.
I give him 1 term before he's "elected" out.

He's a career politician, a wealthy one at that. His wife was involved in some "odd" company dealings (I think she owned the company which was in conflict with Krudd's ambition).
I would not trust him as far as I could throw him (Or any other politician). Fortunately, being a temporary resident of Australia, I couldn't vote. As for seeming "nice", that's media spin for you. He's the pretty boy of politics right now.

He is Labour so the country will eventually be ****ed.
I was even reading the other day that they have close ties with the British Labour party and that quite a few British expats were now acting as advisers and consultants to them.
They are bound to repeat all the mistakes of the Blair government.

His election campaign was based on the following;
If elected to PM I will;
Say sorry to the Abbos (Which I don't have an issue with).
Reduce petrol prices.
Reduce the cost of groceries.
Reduce the cost of mortgages.
Improve housing affordability.
Fix the water problem.
Sign Kytoto and stop climate change (LMFBFAO).
Oh, and we'll reduce taxes too (See Johnny, we can too *wink*).
That's about it really. One thing I have noted about voters in Australia and New Zealand is their very short memories and will fall for any kind of new "whizbang" thing they see on the telly (Especially young voters and new migrants).
Little Johnny Howard on the other hand tried to sell to the Aussies that the liberals were responsible for the economic growth and prosperity during the 10 years he was in office. Fools! One thing I do regard Johnny for is his speach to migrants, and it really was, in short, "If you don't accept the Aussie way, f*ck off!". I cheered!!!

It's election year in NZ and Labour are looking shaky, but there's not much of an opposition so the danger is (As a result of a basterdised version of the German MMP system) a coalition of many smaller parties more so than the last election. Helen Clark has become very arrogant, a bit like Thatcher in her last term. Labour in NZ are using their over taxed surplus to buy votes with tax cuts. Fools!
