Driving to work this morning, I noticed a c class merc behind me driving fairly quickly (80mph approx). Now, as many of you will have found out, it was very very foggy this morning. With this in mind, fog-lights are generally a good idea, yes? ![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
This driver had no lights on at all.![Razz](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/razz.gif)
As we leave the dual carriage way and get to a set of traffic lights, I signal to the female driver that she didn't have her lights on. She wound her window and down and said, 'pardon?'
'Oh, the lights on this are 'automatic'. And she shrugs her shoulders looking all confused.![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Surely there must be an over-ride for this?

i have seen countless pre wash brushes flying across peoples bonnets because they "forgot" to switch them off, including one chap, whos wiper arms snapped off

you would be surprised how many people do not know how to work the automatic handbrakes on new cars, the saleman must just say "you never have to fiddle with it"
you can have all the warning signs in the world, and the vast majority of the general public are just to think to take any notice

b] You can also set the lights so they are on dip all the time.
c] You can turn the light switch one more turn from auto as in a above and hey presto, your lights are on manual and on.
d] To turn the front fogs/rear fogs on you have to go through the turn to manual headlights on anyway
Stupid cow needs to read the hand book!
