I'm trying to resolve a claim with my Insurers. They use a company to source replacement household items. To be quite frank, I'm having a right mare with them as there either trying to fob me off with cheap replacements and can't supply a like for like item

Can I ask for cash/cheque so I can source it myself? For the past 2 months I've turned down 2 things in particular and its getting to the stage where my patience is running out.

I had a claim for a damaged technics stereo a couple of years ago when it was dropped when being moved.
I think i was with the co-op? and as it was just under £500 they sent vouchers out for £495 which i could use in argos, etc
