Guys i have some lead that i removed form a flat roof on the back of our house a little while ago. Where can i find out how much it is worth per Kg before i go to a merchants? I just need to have a rough figure in mind before i go so i don't get fleeced.

Cheers
Andy.

This may sound stupid me saying this but it fluctuates all the time and from place to place.

ring up all your scrap metals merchants in the area and get a price.
They will always tell you that it has been a bad year for ally/steel/copper/lead but they always do that.

Just ring up and get the best price - also weigh it yourself first as some might try and diddle you when they weigh it so you know roughly how much you will get.

We weigh all our scrap ally in every six months or so and thats all i do.

Cheers guys, I was just after a ballpark figure TBH. I wasnt sure how much it would fluctuate but didn't realise there would be much of a difference area to area. I sent the missus next door to borrow some scales as ours are u/s but i haven't sen her for half an hour, watch this space.

Lead scrap value is going down so ring round and get some prices. Roofers, weighing in every week.... thats why all the lead is being pinched from church roofs its worth quite a bit

Ask your local smackhead, chances are they've nicked some recently and have weighed it in.

Stuck a load of copper wire in last week (Singles). It raised £1030 per ton, was offered £1050 per ton but on 250kg's it wasn't worth the extra millage.

Bright copper is worth a hell of a lot more, but there's no way I was stripping it! I'll leave that to the Chinese..
