Default my first pull

in a scooby.
only owned it for six months, last one was nine years ago, on a bike.
unmarked black bmw, uxbridge, had forewarning as saw them flash a bus out the way, after i passed through, interesting they came up on sidelights untill behind, then main beam came on, it could only of been the police or another bmw raceboy.

a spate of rs4 and scoobys, stolen lately, so just checking ownership etc.

gotta say they were no problem, only took 3 mins and awy again.

Had it 20 yrs ago in a 205 GTi. Half of me thought "cheeky buggers", the other half thought "thanks for looking out for my motor".

I wish they would do spot checks in marked cars. You hear so many stories about hi-jackers in police uniforms. Id think twice if a BMW with only halo side lights on 1st tried to bait me then put his flashers on when he decided he wants to pull me over. Before you can ask for ID there might be a gun in your face!

Keep it in first, hand brake in hand... ready. My car will move faster than he can point and shoot !!

Maybe you should change your plus profile to "faster than a speeding bullet"

To be honest though, half the point of using unmarked cars is for the element of suprise. While there is car jacking to consider, there is also the effectiveness of the use of unmarked cars.

Got no issues being stopped with marked or unmarked. But understand the sentiment.

I wonder if it is legal for them to come up behind you on sidelights only?

Had a ownership/stolen check a fair few times but only in marked cars. I would be on the look out for typical signs of a police unmarked car ie 2 aerials. Usually 2 occupants with ear pieces in aswell but you never can be sure!

they were both in uniform one on his radio and one on a laptop, bit hitech for a carjack round here, they would be dressed in hoodies, waiting in carparks. lol.
i do see the point u are making, i am very streetwise a result of living around very unscrupulous people and 3 years mini cabbing in an area with 2 very large travellers sight, i dont lie when i say had bottle, knife, gun and strangulation at 40mph by the female passenger behind me ( asked her not to smoke) pointed my way.

dont know about sidelights, maybe turned them down by mistake when thy flashed the bus.
