Just wondering this pm how many of you folk give money to charity on a regular basis and how this money is divided up by the charity?

What with several leaflets through the post on a weekly basis, asking for money for charity x,y and z, then frequent adverts on sky (this pm - 'pay us £X per month to sponsor a dog like sammy') and even door to door knockers, its pretty much in your face every day.

Now dont get me wrong, I've no problem with any of the genuine charities, as long as a good proportion of what is donated goes to what its being requested for (i.e. Cancer research). The cynical side of me wonders how much the directors of some of these charities get paid per annum?

Finally, has anyone done any 'direct' charity work - i.e. dishing out soup and rolls to the homeless, building schools in africa? Would quite like to get involved in something along these lines at some point.
