Default Which £300 MTB?

I've got £300 to spend on a mountain bike but due to being a complete novice I could do with some opinions on these four:
1) 2008 Felt Q620
2) 2007 Kona Fire Mountain
3) 2006 Speicialized Hardrock sport disk
4) 2008 Giant yukon

All are brand new and I need a 17" inch frame approx. Which is the best value? I fancy one with disk brakes so I could upgrade to Hydraulics and I aint bothered about rear suspension, cheers

If you work for a company then check whether they run a tax free bike scheme as your £300 budget may well change into a £600 one like mine did. You do not have to prove you use it for work.

Cheers mate I'll find out about the bike scheme but doubt it as its only a small firm and they couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery! £600 would open up loads more possibiltys, but then originally I was only gonna get a knackered old one and now thats turned into a 300 quid one lol.

Its not that hard to set up. I did it myself in the end. We didn't get quiet as much off as we aren't VAT registered.

Only got a few more months to pay and I can do it again - wifey needs a decent bike now. The local shop we use don't care as its still a sale. We could have spent a few hundred quid on a bike for the nipper and they wouldn't be bothered.

Always good prices at OFFERS - Pauls Cycles At certain times you can get last seasons top spec bikes at over half price. My mate paid over £2.2k for a carbon Scott when Pauls had last seasons with very little difference for £1200.
