Hi all, I just wanted to bring this story to attention incase any of you havnt heard - Neigbours Back Dad Jailed For Attacking Knifeman - The Sunday Mail

To sum it up...this man has been jailed for running down a thug that threatened him with a knife in front of his children and was smashing the windows of the van he was driving. Just another example of Britain's strange form of justice, otherwise known as bullsh*t! What was he supposed to do...? "oh go on then, stab me if you like!"

The sentence he was given was 3 years, 8 months.

There has already been a long thread on this story

It seems that not all is quite as clear cut as the petition site would have you believe

And also seems about a 50/50 split on here whether he should have been jailed or not

Signed this one. Its not often I sign petitions, but if it happened how they claim it did then he should not be in jail.

If someone is attacking you with a knife then you should have every right to escape, be that around them, through them, or over them.

Oh right. I should have checked for previous threads before posting. Sorry guys...but still something I feel strongly about.

Exactly my thoughts...as soon as you start behaving like that you have no right to expect to be treated fairly. I would have reversed back over the b*stard!

Didnt he see him later on and run him over, and it wasnt directly after the attack/threat

I think this an issue best left alone after the bad feeling etc. caused last time around.
